FaithfulScouts Website

Website Development

With respect to the troop website, I think I had mentioned displaying a calendar somewhere on the home page, plus a series of helpful links.  The photo slide show can begin by interspersing Norman Rockwell paintings involving Scouts with some of the slides we already use (EtherScout, Veritatis Splendor).  Initially I thought we might not want the blog feature we've used elsewhere, but on reflection I think we should have it, but not have the posts go automatically on Veritatis Splendor.  I'd like to use it as a way to post news and updates to parents and Scouts and to encourage parents and Scouts to blog on the site.  We can allow them to use the same usernames to participate at Veritatis Splendor without pushing posts from the Scout troop site to the broader discussion site.  Let's call the blog box "Scoutmaster's Minute".  Links across the top to new pages would include "A Catholic Troop", "Faithful Scouts", "Character Counts", "Scout Skills", "Youth Protection", "Scouts for Life", and "Support Troop 1212"

Here are a few of the "helpful links" we can place in the "recommended" box:
